7, 14, or 28 Days — Which Rental Length Fits Your Move?

Longer rentals cost less per day, but the right length depends more on your actual timeline than on chasing the best rate.

StackTote rents in three lengths — 7, 14, and 28 days — and the per-day cost drops the longer you rent. But the best choice isn't just about the lowest rate; it's about matching the rental to how your move is actually structured.

7 days: the fast, single-weekend move

Best if you're moving out and in within the same week — packed up Friday, moved Saturday, fully unpacked and bins ready for pickup by the following Friday. This is the most common length for straightforward local moves where the old and new place transitions are close together in time.

14 days: overlapping move-out and move-in dates

The most commonly booked length, and for good reason — it covers the realistic gap between packing up an old place and finishing unpacking at the new one, including the buffer for lease overlap, closing delays, or just not rushing the unpack. If you're not sure which length to pick, 14 days is the safest default.

28 days: renovations, gaps between leases, or slow unpacking

Makes sense if there's a real gap between move-out and move-in — waiting on a renovation, a lease that doesn't line up cleanly, or a move where you genuinely want the bins around for a month rather than unpacking everything at once. The per-day cost is lowest at this length.
